Mr. Oscar D. Wilson, Sr.'s Obituary
On Friday, November 9th, Oscar D. Wilson, Sr., loving husband and father of six children passed away at the age of 84. Oscar was born in Meridian MS. to David and Minnie (Nash) Wilson on May 28th 1934. Oscar joined the U.S. Air force in 1952 where he served his country as a jet aircraft mechanic. After his military 1 service, he met the love of his life, Ruth Elnor Johnson. After their marriage, he returned to school and graduated from Jackson State University. Oscar and Ruth raised four daughters and two sons. Oscar had a passion for mechanics and carpentry. He kept all the family cars running and could read instructions and construct the perfect room. He loved to travel to scenic locations and places with history. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents David and Minnie Nash Wilson; two brothers John and David, five sisters Sarah, Susie, Ruth, Minnie and Naomi and a grandson DeLeon Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Ruth Elnor(Johnson); four daughters Ruthie Eleby (Arthur) Baylor, Lou Anna (Eleby) Henry, Dorothy (Eleby) Baylor, Linda (Wilson) Burwell; two sons Oscar Wilson Jr. and David (Sheila) Wilson; one brother, McLendon Wilson; two brother in laws, Smiley Bonds, Edward Johnson; two sister in laws Helen Brooks, Willie Mae Jordan; 18 grands , 17 great grands and numerous nieces and nephews. Extended family members Betty Jean Smith, Sam Pruitt and Marilyn Boyd Wilson. We love and miss you dad! Auf Wiedersehen (until we see each other again) my children!
