Ms. Patricia Lynn Croft's Obituary
Patricia Lynn Croft, affectionately known as Mickey, began her life's journey on August 27, 1956, when she was born to Mmy Alma Stennis and Willie Croft in Meridian, Mississippi. When she was a teenager, her mother Mary moved to Compton, California. There, she attended Walton Middle School, Whaley Junior High School and Dominguez Sr. High School. At Dominguez, she was a member of the cheerleading squad and because she had so much "DON PRIDE" in 1974, she became captain during her senior year. After high school, Patricia returned to Mississippi to attend Jackson State University, but after a couple of years, she moved back to California and took a job driving buses for LA Unified School District. She later became employed with the United States Postal Service in Compton, CA, where she worked for 14 years. During this time, she gave birth to 3 children: Sherell (1977), Francine (1991) and Vanoy (1994). In 1998, Patricia returned to Mississippi where she resided until she was called home to be with the Lord. In 2006, she joined Popular Springs Drive Baptist Church, where she was an active member participating in Women 's Bible study, Sunday School and Prayer meetings on Wednesdays. In her free time when she wasn 't caring for and loving her grandchildren, she enjoyed putting puzzles together, playing games on her computer, reading and listening to the blues. In the summertime, she would travel to Vegas and California so she could spend time with her daughter and friends from the postal service. During this time, she also attended the Dominguez High All Class Reunion. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, two (2) Sisters and 1 brother. Patricia leaves to cherish her rnemories: two (2) daughters: Sherell (Anthony) Bartley of Las Vegas, NV and Francine Adams of Meridian, MS; one son, Vanoy Adams of Meridian, MS; three (3) sisters: Ann Grant of Phoenix, AZ, Gail Hall of Chunky, MS, and Shunda Mc Williams of Meridian, MS; four brothers: Robert Stennis of Texas, Rev. Jeffrey (Roslyn) Croft of St. Louis, MO, Terry (Brenda) Stennis of Atlanta, GA, and Rev. Shawn (Treacy) Croft of Chunky, MS; seven (7) Grandchildren: Shanta Davis, Jayden Adams, Ilayiah Adams, Paisley Adams, Aniyah Harmon, D 'Marreo Bartley and Lavell Bartley; 1 Great Granddaughter Shanelle Love, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
