Mr. Patrick Milton Payton's Obituary
Mr. Patrick Milton Payton was born September 9, 1959 in Brookhaven, MS to the late Dorothy (Starks) Payton Gray and James M. Payton. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS. Patrick accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with St. Luke M.B. Church. After graduating from Waynesboro Central High School, Patrick made the courageous decision to serve our country. He joined the United States Marine Corps where he was enlisted from May, 1977 to 1980. Preceding him in death are his mother Dorothy (Starks) Payton Gray; one brother, Steven R. Payton; one sister, Machesia Evans; paternal grandfather, James (Spottie) Payton; maternal grandperants, Hosea Starks and Beulah Richardson. He leaves to cherish his memories; two daughters, Katonya Gray of Jackson, MS and Ashley Taylor of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; two sons, Antwon Payton and Antonio Payton of Fayetteville, NC; one grandson, Jordan Taylor of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; his father, James M. Payton and step mother Cassandra Payton and grandmother, Elora Brown all of Waynesboro, MS; five brothers, Keith Weathers of Waynesboro, MS, James V. (Deborah) Payton of Brookhaven, MS, Victor (Tomecia) Payton of Waynesboro, MS, Malcolm Evans of Meridian, MS and Thomas Payton of Waynesboro, MS; two sisters, Latoma McClendon and Yalise Payton both of Waynesboro, MS; one uncle, Marvin Davis; one aunt, Margaret Davis; one great aunt, Earlene (Sue) Smith; and a host of meces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
