Ms. Pauline G. Phillips' Obituary
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalms 23: 1-6 Ms. Pauline G. Phillips came into this world on April 21, 1937. She was one of five children born in Meridian, MS to the late Mr. Otis and Mrs. Maggie Gordon. After high school, Ms. Pauline married Johnny Phillips. From this union, four children were born, a daugliter, Dorothy Ann Bush, and three sons; Johnny Lee Phillips, Robert Earl Phillips and Michael David Phillips. During the seventy-nine years God blessed us with her presence, she nurtured many souls, healed countless hearts, and blessed numerous lives. For many years, Ms. Pauline was a dedicated and very active member of Abundant Life Tabernacle UPC. Her failing health eventually took a toll on her ability to live independently. She spent her remaining twilight years under the loving care of her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy (Dot) and Ray Bush. While living with them, she became a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, of Yantly, AL. She was a faithful and devoted servant of Christ. During her time of independence, Ms. Pauline gave of herself and her time selflessly for the building and uplifting of God's Kingdom. We will deeply grieve the loss of our loving matriarch, but her work in this life was done.
