Ms. Pearlie Mae Benoman's Obituary
Pearlie Mae Benoman was born on Monday, October 8, 1928 to Robert Arlee Bennerman and Jessie Rush Bennerman in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS. She received her education from the Kemper County School System where she attended Blue Springs Grammar School in DeKalb, MS and Whisenton High School in DeKalb, MS. During early life, she became a member of Center Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS. She later attended Jackson State College (now known as Jackson State University) in Jackson, MS, and then relocated to Meridian, Lauderdale County, MS where she joined East Mount Moriah Baptist Church and served on the Kitchen Committee, Adult Choir, Gesmer Clark Circle, and Home Mission Society. She was employed as a domestic worker along with Southern Pipe Company in Meridian, MS; the Meridian Public Library in Meridian, MS; and King Daughters and Sons Nursing Home in Meridian, MS where she retired. After retirement, she became the neighborhood children's babysitter and a seamstress. Miss Benoman, age 93, departed her earthly life on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the Mississippi Care Center of DeKalb in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS. She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Benoman; father, Robert Arlee Bennerman; mother, Jessie Rush Bennerman; sister, Lucille Benoman; and brother, Roy Benoman. Psalm 90:10 says, "The days of our years are three score years and ten, and if by reason of strength they be four score years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow." She was blessed to live for four score and thirteen. Survivors are: two daughters, Amergean Benoman ofDeKalb, MS and Doris Benoman of Meridian, MS; seven grandchildren, Eunesa Benoman of Bowie, MD; Tyrone Benoman of Orlando, FL; Julius Benoman (Shanta) of Toomsuba, MS; Michael Benoman (Cachita) of Brandon, MS; Patrick Benoma.p. of DeKalb, MS; Felix Warren (Laura) of Charlotte, NC; and Diamond Benoman of Meridian, MS; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
