Ms. Peggy Jean Gordon's Obituary
Peggy Jean Gordon, of The Bronx, NY passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023. Peggy was born June 11, 1955, in Meridian, MS to Leroy and Jessie Gordon. She was the second of five children. Peggy joined Sunlight Baptist Church at an early age and graduated from Meridian High School in Meridian, MS. In her early years, Peggy moved to New York City, NY and worked as a home health care attendant. Peggy enjoyed talking on the phone with her aunt Emma and spending time with her family, including her beloved Labrador Retriever Robie. She enjoyed showing her family the many sites, that New York City had to offer. Peggy treasured the simple things in life. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Gordon and sister, Jacquelyn Sims. She leaves to cherish many special memories to her companion Julio Alvarez of The Bronx, NY and her two sons Donis Gordon and Mario Alvarez of NY; daughter Kimberly Rock and son-in-law Milton Rock, grandchildren Jordan Rock, Josiah Rock, and Israel Rock all of Fredericksburg, VA; her mother Jessie Gordon of Meridian, MS and her sister Shirley (Willie) Trotter of Meridian, MS, two brothers Leroy Gordon, Jr. (Jvone) Gordon of Des Moines, IA, Jerry (Pamela) Gordon of Meridian, MS; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Before she departed this life and entered eternal peace, she accepted Jesus Christ as Lo,rd & Savior and rededicated her life on December 27, 2022. In her last moments, she would be heard singing in the hospital, about how much Jesus loves her.
