Perry Virginia " Betty Boo" Smith was born on July 10, 1960 in Meridian, MS to Louis and Rosanna Smith. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with New Canaan Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi.
She attended Meridian High School and graduated with the Class of 1979. She was employed at East Mississippi State Hospital for numerous years.
Perry Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Louis & Rosanna Smith; her brothers, Earnest Harris, Johnny "Rat" Smith; sisters, Bonnie Faye Rush, and Joann Durr.
Perry V. Smith, 63, departed this earthly life on September 30, 2023 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons, Derrick Thomas (Deanna) of Meridian, MS and Thomas Clayton (Erica) of Houston, TX; one daughter, Tiera Jenkins of Meridian, MS; seven grandchildren, Alyssa Thomas, Ta'Marrion Clayton, Rowan Thomas, A'mya Thomas, Kaydience Jones, De 'Ziriah Rowe, and Liberty Jones; five brothers, Larry (Sabrina) Horne of Lockport, NY, Charles Ray (Cynthia) Smith, Fredrick (Clara) Smith of Meridian, MS, Roderick (Rena) Smith of Canton, MS and Rodney (Brenda) Smith of Liberty, NY; three sisters, Patricia Smith, Wanda Smith and Evelyn Smith all of Meridian, MS; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends that loved her dearly.
