Mr. Phillip Dozier Jennings' Obituary
Phillip was born on August 6, 1958 to the late Evis Jennings and the late Rhoena Dozier Jennings. He was the eighth child of thirteen children. He was preceded in death by his father, Evis Jennings; mother, Rhoena Dozier Jennings; brothers, Debrow Dozier, Don Jennings, Walter Lee Brown and Alphonso (Ronnie) Brown; sisters, Iva Jean Brewster and Patricia Ann Gordon. At an early age Phillip confessed his faith in Christ and was baptized at First Un-ion Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. Later he attended the Oak Grove Church of God in Meridian, MS until his health failed. Phillip's education began in the Lauderdale County Public School System. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1977. He attended Mississippi State University and later attended Los Angeles City College majoring in political science. In 1981, Phillip enlisted in the United States Department of the Navy as a com-puter operator. He received an Honorable Discharge on May 22, 1985. Later he worked with Four Wind Postal Services, Pioneer Automotive, Chevron Mini-Mart, Dolly Madison Bakery, BDO Seidman in Los Angeles, CA, American Medical in Houston, TX, Arco Building Products in Meridian, MS, A very Dennison in Meridian, MS and TJ Max as a Loss Prevention Specialist. Phillip departed this life on March 21, 2019 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He leaves to cherish his memories: four brothers, Fred L. Dozier, Meridian MS, Evis Lavern (Sandra Faye) Jennings, San Jose, CA, Randle Lyle (Fredericka) Jennings, Tuscaloosa, AL, Staughton Lynn (Brenda) Jennings, Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Bonnie (Oscar) Coleman, Meridian, MS and Paula Denise (Tommy) Marshall, Fayette, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
