Mr. Phillip Rush's Obituary
Mr. Phillip Rush, age 67, was born July 27, 1949 in Kemper County to the late James Davis and Earnestine C. Rush. He departed this life January 6, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Meridian, MS.
He accepted Christ at an early age where he was a member at Brown Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS and later united with New Olive Baptist Church.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Alzena Grace Rush. To this union, five children were born. Then, later in life he joined in matrimony to Ruby Helen Rush.
Brother Rush was preceded in death by his father James Davis Rush, mother Earnestine C. Rush, grandparents Buddy Campbell and Pearl Pace, ex-wife Alzena Grace Rush, a son Demarcus Braden, one aunt Bessie E. Hudson, two uncles, Steve and Billy Ray Campbell.
Phillip was loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed. To cherish his memory, he is survived by his wife Ruby Helen Rush, Meridian, MS; ten children: Walter (Sandra) Grace of Meridian, MS; Yolanda Rush of Biloxi, MS; Phillip (Sherria) Rush of Victorville, CA; Shameika (Thaddis) King of Gulfport, MS; Chondria Rush of Biloxi, MS; Jonathan Gatling of Meridian, MS; Skyla (Annette) Braden of Killeen, TX; Keoshia Houston and LaPrecious Houston of Meridian, MS; four step children: Cynthia (Jimmy) Grace, Helen Portis of Meridian, MS, Willie (Cerlenza) Gordon of Lauderdale, MS and Frederick Gordon of Meridian, MS; three sisters: Dorothy (Willie) Grace, Emma (Elmo) Grace, Trish (Wayne) Clark, all of Meridian, MS; seven brothers: James Otis (Kim) Rush, Johnny (Debra) Rush, London Earl Rush, John (Mary Ann) Rush, George David Rush, Ricky (Mary Ann) Rush, and Mark Rush, all of Meridian, MS; two aunts, Mary Parker of Meridian, MS and Elvada McCoy of New Hope, MS; one uncle, Edward Campbell of Meridian, MS; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; four special friends: Roger Blanks, Raymond Evans, Brenda Spells and Frances Pearl “Ms. C” Grigsby.
