Mr. R.C. Hopson's Obituary
R.C Hopson was born on March 30, 1930 to the late Namon and Lula Hopson. He was united in holy matrimony to Irene Hopson who preceded him in death. The matrimonial union of Irene and R.C. Hopson produced twelve children, two of which (Bessie and April) preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn ten children: Hattie (Charles) Scott, Mattie Smith, and Betty (Ronald) Newton, all of St. Louis, MO; Willie (Brenda) Hopson, Russell, MS; Curtis Hopson, Meridian, MS; Larry (Casandra) Hopson, Marion, MS; Edward (Carolyn) Hopson, Meridia, MS; Cheryl Reed, Meridian, MS; Clint Hopson, Kemper, MS; Christopher (Gloria) Hopson, Lauderdale, MS. He also leaves to mourn, twenty-one grandchildren, fifteen great-grand children, and two great-great grandchildren.
R.C. Was preceded in death by five sisters and six brothers.
R.C. Was united with Mendon Zion Primitive Baptist Church and remained a member until his death. He was employed by Richton Tie and Timber Company as a machine operator for thirty-five years. After retiring from Richton Tie and Timber, he worked for the Keaton Wood Yard also as a machine operator for 10 years. He loved gardening, growing vegetables and spending time outdoors.
He departed this life on February 24, 2015 at Bedford Care in Marion, MS.
