Mr. Ralph Lewis' Obituary
Mr. Ralph Lewis, affectionately known as "Diddy" and "The Red Rooster" to his family and close friends, was born on June 25, 1951 to the late Mr. James Robert Lewis and Mrs. Emma Virginia McDonald Lewis. God called him home on September 7, 2020. At an early age Ralph confessed his faith in Christ and united with Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church of Collinsville, MS and New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Meridian, MS. Later in life, studied under Good Shepherd Ministries of Meridian, MS. Ralph was very active serving the Lord in various capacities. He remained a faithful servant until his health failed. He received his academic education from the Lauderdale County Public Schools and Meridian Public Schools. He served his country in the US ARMY which took him to various places all over the world, Europe, Asia and the United States. After leaving the ARMY he continued to apply his skills for the Lauderdale County Sheriff Department, Security Officer at MCC and Operator at US Blades. Ralph was also a Mason, Shriner, a unique Wood Craftsman and was just an all-around servant. He would give you his last!!! It could be said that Ralph was a Jokester but in reality, he was always trying to make light of a situation by making you smile, laugh and have fun. His greatest love was his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Jerelene Cole and to this union was born three beautiful daughters, Tina, Tamicka and Rashonda ... they were the loves of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mrs. Oreatha Lewis Spencer, a brother Mr. Evans James Lewis and two grandsons, Joseph and Jonathan. He leaves to cherish his memories: The mother of his children Jerelene, three daughters, Tina (Russell Sr.), Tamicka (Nikita), Rashonda (Shronn Sr.), two brothers, Robert (Molly), Billy (Evelyn), one sister, Casandra (Lionel), five grandchildren, Ashlynn, Nekia (Nate), Russell Jr., Shronn Jr and Serenity and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
