Mr. Ray L. Burton's Obituary
Ray Louis Burton was born April 29, 1956, in Sumter County, Alabama to the late Jeff and Mary Burton. Ray was a loving devoted husband, father, and grandfather. On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS, he answered his father's call and took his rest. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Mary Lee Burton, a brother, Jeff Burton, Jr. and a sister, Georgia Mae Sanders. On May 7, 1982, Ray married the love of his life, Bunnie Ann. To this 41-year union were born two boys and four girls. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Bunnie Ann of Lauderdale, MS.; 3 loving and dedicated devoted sons, Ray Gordon (Rebecca) of Charleston, SC, Deaundrey McDonald (Rhonda) of Atlanta, GA, and Donny Burton (Melissa) of Meridian, MS; 4 wonderful loving daughters, Sharonda Burton of Quitman, AL, Lynn Taylor (Willie) of Meridian, MS, Ranesha Burton (Terrence) of Lauderdale, MS, and Brianna Burton of Dekalb, MS; special bonus daughters, Shundra McDonald and Teresa McCoy; and 12 joy filled grandchildren. Cherishing his memories, also: brothers, Johnny Lee Burton and Wille Burton (Betty) Lauderdale, MS, and Frederick Burton, Memphis, TN; sisters, Ella Ree Campbell (Clarence) Meridian, MS and Brenda Lee Cheathem (Frank), Troy, AL; uncle, EB Gowdy and aunt, Annie Marie Clayton, Meridian, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. ' Ray will be remembered for his overflowing love, kind words, loud laughter, and his generous will to help others.
