Mr. Ray Fiel Palmer's Obituary
Ray Field Palmer was born January 17, 1940, to the late Richard Palmer and Donnie Hill Palmer in Kewanee, Mississippi. He was the second child born to this union. God called him home on Monday, August 5, 2019 at his residence in Meridian, MS. Ray attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church for many years before rededicating his life to the Lord on February 12, 2017. ' Ray worked at Peavey Electronics Corporation for over 15 years. After retiring, Ray owned and operated his own business, Metro Auto Body & Paint Shop. He also volunteered and catered numerous community events. Ray also worked at Clark Memorial Funeral Home and Berry & Gardner Funeral Home. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, fishing and walking around Bonita Lake. Ray loved to DJ on the weekends when he was younger and still enjoyed music throughout his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Onnie Palmer and his brother Jerry Richard Palmer. Ray leaves to cherish his wife of 33 years Barbara Palmer: sons Ellie "DeDe" (Emma) Eason of Meridian, MS, Allen (Lacy) Palmer of Reno, NV and Dennis Palmer of Meridian, MS; daughters: Tammy McDaniel Reece of Houston, TX, Brigget Candis Palmer-Hughes of Atlanta, GA, and Christina (Eric) Palmer Nelson of Tulsa, OK; step-daughter Stephanie (Sean) Grace of Meridian, MS; brother: Albert Gene (Rosie) Palmer of Meridian, MS; sister: Jessie Young of Detroit; MI; and sister-in-law: Dorothy Palmer. Thirty (30) grandchildren, twenty-eight (28) great grandchildren, fourteen (14) great-great-grandchildren, thirteen (13) great-great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
