Mr. Raymond "Peanut" Hill's Obituary
Raymond Earl Hill, also known as Peanut, was born June 23, 1967 to the late Annie Kate Hill and William Earl Rice. He was born and raised in Meridian, MS and was well known especially being from “Redline”. He was taught the word of Christ at an early age and attended Meridian Public Schools.
He loved his family and friends. He worked several blue collar jobs and was very dependable. “He was a great baby-sitter”, says his sister Cathy. “I could always count on my brother to help me no matter the day or time”, says his sister Tawanza. Like the rest of us, Peanut was not a perfect man, but he knew Christ. He grew not only in age, but spiritually. “Peanut would send me scriptures everyday”, says a friend, Celicia, which is also evident on his many Facebook pages. Peanut relocated to Jackson around 2006 and gained more friends who were very loving and helpful. While working in the area, Peanut contracted Covid-19. He was admitted to the hospital September 5th, until God called him home on September 22nd. Joining his mom and the mother of his kids, Carolyn Houston who both preceded him in death. He leaves behind: two daughters: Christina and Taylia Hill; his father, William Earl Rice; his God-mom, Ms. Laura; a host of siblings: Cathy Hill, Joanna Hill, Dorothea Clayton, Tawanza Rice-Toole, Antonio Hill, David Wilson Jr., and William Rice Jr; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, ad nephews.
