Rebecca Lavolia Ruffin Williams was born on December 20, 1931 to Raymond Ruffin, Sr and Rosa Rilla Gates Ruffin, who both preceded her in death, She gained her wings, November 23, 2018, in Brandon, MS. She received her education at Weschler Elementary School, Harris High School and Tuskegee University.
She was a devoted mother to eight children, 2 preceded her in death, Edward Glenn and Harriet Williams. She was a faithful member of St. James A.M.E. Church until her health failed. She served as Director of Christian Education, A.C.E. Fellowship, a Sunday School teacher, Secretary f the Usher Board, Secretary of Missionary Society, on the Stewardess' Board, Steward Board, and Church Secretary.
She leaves to mourn her death and celebrate her life, 1 son, Raymond II (Melba) Ruffin California, 5 daughters, Rita (Larry) Hendrix, Mituzpe Romon, Israel, Loretta Burrage, Meridian, Rosa (Eugene) McQuirter, Brandon, MS, Edie (Victor) Nicholson, Laurel, MS and Leatrice Annette Madison, Meridian.
One brother, Reverend Raymond (Willhelmina) Ruffin, Jr., three sisters Rena, Linda, and Denise Ruffin all of Meridian, MS. One step brother, Sam (Leila) Williams, Sui Sun, CA and three step sisters, Lillie Williams Russell, Albany, GA, Gloria (Emanuel) Barber, Heidelberg, MS, Hattie B. Williams, Meridian, MS. A devoted cousin, Dora L. Douglas, Dayton, Ohio. 29 Grandchildren, 3 preceded her in death. 34 Great Grandchildren, 1 preceded her in death. Special Friends, Mrs. Charlene Lewis, Beatrice Hawkins and Presiding Elder George Tyler and family, several nieces and nephews and a host of cousins.
