Mr. Reginald V. Hicks' Obituary
Reginald Wayne Hicks, affectionately known as "Uncle Wayne," passed away peacefully at his residence on June 1st in Pensacola, FL, at the age of 69.
Born on December 5, 1954, in Meridian, MS, Reginald was the third son of Eugene and Mary Hicks. He grew up in Meridian, MS, attended the Meridian Public School System, and was a member and baptized at Mt. Salem Methodist Church.
He chose to honor and protect his country by joining the United States Army, and after retirement, he relocated to Carmichael, California, where he joined his brother, Alvis Hicks, sister-in-law, Everlean Hicks, and family: Derrick, Everette, and Mavis Hicks. He was an active member of Union Baptist Church in Vallejo, CA.
He lived in Vallejo, CA, for 25 years, becoming a beloved figure in the community. He was known for his friendly demeanor and formed lasting friendships with his neighbors. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: fishing, camping, traveling around the country, and participating in various activities with his family.
In 2005, Reginald relocated with his brother, Alvis, and sister-in-law to Pensacola, Florida. Uncle Wayne was a kind and gentle soul. He was often found outdoors enjoying the Florida sunshine. He would listen to music, tapping his feet and enjoying his dog, "Andy." His infectious and unyielding laugh was a hallmark of his presence, signaling his joy and good spirits.
Reginald was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mary Hicks, and nephew, Everette Hicks. He is survived by his siblings, Harold Hicks, Alvis Hicks, Melvin Hicks, Clara Robertson, and Darrell Hicks.

Despite some challenges, Reginald never let them hinder his spirit. He remained a cherished member of his family and community, and was beloved by all who knew him. His warmth, laughter, and gentle nature will be deeply missed.
