Ms. Rena M. Arnold's Obituary
Rena Mae Arnold was born on June 28, 1941 to the late Ned Arnold and Evergreen Coleman Arnold. Rena Mae traveled a lot with her parents, but grew up in the Lost Gap-Meehan community. Often, she would walk to town with her mother.
At a young age, she attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with her great grandmother, Lettie Walker. In her youth, she joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Meridian, MS. She was also an active supporter of Mt. Sinah Baptist Church where her daughter was a member. In later years, she often attended St. Luke Baptist Church. At the time of her passing, she attended New Hope Baptist Church.
Rena Mae attended Wechsler and T. J. Harris High School. She worked at the Lamar Hotel along with her mother for many years.
She also worked for the Meridian Housing Authority for over 10 years alongside her aunt/friend Mary Jane Coleman Mosley. She later begin employment with East Mississippi State Hospital where she worked for over 20 years until she retired
Rena Mae loved to cook for her family, listen to music, especially blues, work puzzle books and play solitaire. She also loved to dance, and travel, especially to Biloxi and New Orleans. She was a diehard Meridian High Wildcat fan and an honorary member of the MHS Class of 1989. She was also a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She loved her grand-dogs whom she's experienced joy with throughout the years, Fox, Roxy, CJ, Sonny and Ice; and her constant protectors and companions until her passing, Dash and Cheyenne.
Rena Mae leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Augustine Hughes (Tylen) and Wanda Moore (Norwood); one spoiled grand-daughter: Tumara Larkin; three bonus daughters: Tiffany, Pam and Michelle; her bonus grandchildren: Norelle, Norkea, M'Hagee, Miya, Ani, Enari, Zoe, Dominic and KD; her adopted grandchildren: Ashton and Asher; and her dear friends: Annie Pearl, Debra, Mary Ann and Jeanette. She also leaves a host of cousins, cherished friends and a number of bonus children and grandchildren.
