Richard L. Thomas
Richard Lederick Thomas, Sr. was born April 16, 1968 in Meridian, MS to the late James Thomas and Annie Lee Thomas. He is the youngest of three children.
Richard, also known as "Rick" confessed his life to Christ at an early age and joined Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. In 2017, he answered the call to ministry for Christ and served as a dedicated and faithful follower.
After completing West Lauderdale High School, Richard attended Scooba Tech and the University of North Alabama. At both colleges, he played football wearing the #34 after his football idol, Walter Payton.
In Holy Matrimony, he united with Kimberly Thomas on April 15, 2000. To this union, two children were born. Richard worked in concrete for more than 25 years. He was known for making people laugh. Richard enjoyed watching NFL football, playing spades, pool, dominoes, and drag racing.
On December 8th, 2018 at Anderson Memorial Hospital, he departed his earthly body and joined hands with his eternal father. He was preceded in death by his father, James Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother, Annie Lee Thomas, Bailey, MS, wife, Kimberly Thomas of Bailey, MS; two brothers: James (Georgia) Thomas, Meridian, MS, Gary (Pamela)Thomas, Bailey, MS; four daughters: Somer Bady, Baton Rouge, LA, Shantia McQuarley and Sharicka McQuarley, both of Meridian, MS, Kimbreshia Thomas, Bailey, MS; two sons: Richard Thomas, Jr., Bailey, MS, Richard McQuarley, MS, Meridian, MS; four grandchildren, Enireyah, Autumn, Emory and Eddie 3rd, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
