Mr. Rickey Cannon's Obituary
Rickey Cannon was born on October 18, 1952 in West Point, Mississippi. He crossed over into eternity on January 26, 2017. Rickey confessed Christ at an early age and united with St Paul Missionary Baptist Church in West Point. Upon moving to Lauderdale County, he united with Antioch Baptist Church where he was a faithful servant until his death. He faithfully served on the Banking Committee, as an Usher, and as a Trustee. He graduated from South Shore High School in Chicago, Illinois and attended Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS. He retired from NAS Meridian from the fuel farm department in 2015. One of the loves of his life was his train collection. He was a member of the Meridian Train Club. He loved to cook and had many specialty foods he lovingly cooked. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and son. Cherishing his memory is his Wife of 33 ½ years, Redia Cannon; Son Roderick Cannon (Shamicka), Daughter ReAnna Henderson (Frank); 3 Granddaughters, Zariah, Bailee and Rylee; Parents Eliza and James Carruthers; Sisters, Mildred Griffin (Spencer), Dorothy McQuarters (Algene ), Carolyn Donald and Janice Tillman; Brother in laws, James McQuarters and Dwight Johnson; Sister in laws, Bernice Brown and Annie Ford; Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends and Church Members He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will and Ida Johnson and sister in law Catherine Johnson.
