Mr. Robert Lee Baskin's Obituary
Mr. Robert Lee (R.L.) Baskin was born December 12, 1936 in Whynot, Mississippi to the late Robert (Rob) and Lillie Mae Baskin.
R.L. Was united in holy matrimony to the “love of his life” Dorothy Mae Malone Baskin on May 25, 1956.
He was friends to many people, he was a great listener and advisor. R.L. Was a humble, caring, loving and hard-working man who had much love for his wife & children. He was employed as a truck driver for Kimbrell Roofing Lumber Company for many years until issues with his health allowed him to retire.
He confessed to Christ at an early age. He joined St. Mary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W.L. Dixon. He was an active member of the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee until his health failed him.
On Wednesday, November 27, 2013 R.L. Took his rest in to the Pearly Gates of Heaven to be with the love of his life, Dorothy.
He leaves to cherish his memories: seven children, Tommie (Laura) Baskin, Brenda Baskin-Moore, Jan Baskin-Dixon, all of Meridian, MS; Robert (Dorothy) Baskin, Stephanie (Tony) Hickman of Brandon, MS, Mack Baskin of Pensacola, FL and Danny (Annette) Baskin of Vicksburg, MS; two sisters, Betty Joyce Fox, Annie (James) Smith; one brother, A.J. (Dorothy) Baskin all of Meridian, MS; four sisters-in-law, Willie Mae (Lonzell) Aikens, Lorine Malone, Irnell Henderson, Molly Baskin, all of Meridian, MS; five brothers-in-law, John (Clara) Malone of Racine, WI, Frank (Elizabeth) Malone of Houston, TX, Billy (Bobbie) Malone, Jearl (Johnnie Mae) Malone, Arthur (Betty) Easley all of Meridian, MS;
15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and one God-son that he loved dearly Cedrick Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years, a granddaughter, two sons-in-law, 4 sisters and one brother.
