Mr. Robert G. Drake, Jr.'s Obituary
The life of Robert G. Drake, Jr., affectionately known as "Bug", began his life when he was born on August 16, 1960 in Meridian, MS to Legurtha Drake and the late Robert G. Drake, Sr. He attended Meridian Public Schools. He was a proud graduate of the Meridian High School Class of 1978. After completing High School, he attended East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, MS where he obtained an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy. He worked several jobs in Meridian, MS, including but not limited to the Pepsi Cola Company before moving to Dallas, Texas. He confessed Christ at an early age an joined Sunlight Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A.J Morgan in Meridian, MS. His pride and joy was his family, baseball and traveling. He _was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. God saw that He needed another one of his precious children to come home and be with Him and reside in his Heavenly home on February 29, 2020 in Grand Praire, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Drake, Sr and one (1) brother, James Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving mother, Legurtha Drake of ... Vickie Herlong (Sylvester) of Meridian, MS, Gloria Drake (Willis) of Grand Praire, TX; Angelia Drake of Grand Praire, TX and Tina Howell (Chris) of Meridian, MS; one (1) brother: Larry Drake of Dallas, TX; five (5) grandchildren: Cerenity, Derrion, Xy 'Derrien, Xyerra and XyDerrick; one (1) sister-in-law, Inez Henderson; a special lifelong friend: Carolyn Wall of Denton, TX; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
