Robert Earl Evans, Jr., age 46 of Meridian, MS made his transition Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Robert was born September 4, 1965 to Annie Williams and Robert Earl Evans, Sr. Robert Was educated and graduated from the Enterprise School District. He later attended Laurel College. Robert moved to Rockford, Ill. And lived there for 15 years. Robert accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of the Mt. Rose Baptist Church and later joined the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother and father Mrs. Annie Williams and Mr. Robert Earl Evans, Sr. A daughter Michelle Ferguson of Rockford, II. Two grand-daughters Akeyla Evans and Antanzala Purifoy; and Antavion Purifoy all of Rockford, 11.; Two sisters, Patricia Evans of Atlanta, GA and Shonda Everett of Meridian, MS ; Two brothers, Tommy Parker and Timothy Sidney of Meridian, MS.; Aunts Annie Adams, Debra Parker, Regina Parker, June Goodwin, Ethel Evans, Val Thomas, Susie William, Roby Evans, Louise Davis, Gloria Jones, Gwen Jones. Uncles, Joe W. Parker, Joe B. Parker, Gene Adams. One God Daughter, Latosha Tate. Special cousins, Mary Ann Evans, Joann Thomas, Angela Jones, Charlotte Jones, Kenneth McGowan, Cynthia McGowan, Charles Adams, Tracy Parker and Tabbbotha Jones. A special stepdaughter Marquita Jones, of Rockford, II. Best friend, Reginald McGee and a very special friend Mary. A. Jordan. He also leaves to cherish his memories, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. (Robert wrote out his own obituary. "I want everyone to know that I was blessed to have aunts and godmothers "out of this world!" Ms. Louise Davis raised me like her own son. Ms. Ethel Evans and Mrs. Mary Jones cared for me and were my best friends. Mrs. Annie Adams took me under her wings and cared for me like her own son. ")
