Mr. Robert Lee Henderson's Obituary
Robert Lee Henderson was born on January 20, 1939 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi to the late Lillian Atkins and John Henderson. Robert united with New Prospect Baptist Church in Savoy, MS at a young age. Later in life, he joined Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where he was one of many who helped construct the church. Robert served as a long and faitf,ful member of Mt. Bethel. Robert untied in holy matrimony to the love of his life, the late Emma Bourrage Henderson in March 1959. He was employed for 40 plus years with Southern Scrap Metal. He was also a truck driver for many years. Bunk, as he was affectionately known by many, was very passionate about his children. and grandchildren. There was nothing that you needed he didn't have, no matter what it was. He would always give a lecture about it, but he would give it to you. The way he gave it to you was the way he wanted it returned. He had an abundance of tools because he loved working on things. He was a great cook and also made homemade potatoe chips. On July 19, 2022, Robert walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Emma Henderson; two sons: Robert Henderson, Jr., and Billy Earl Henderson; four brothers and one sister. He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Charlie C. (Cynthia) Henderson of Russell, MS, Bobby (Berniece) Jones of Memphis, TN, Danny Ray (Deborah) Bourrage of Bailey, MS, Dr. Richard (Nancy) Henderson of Corona, CA, Terry (Trish) Henderson of Port Huron, Ml, and his only daughter, Vickey Brown of Meridian, MS; special friends: David Brown, Sr., Ira Brown, Tyshon Johnson, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
