Mr. Robert Douglas Houston's Obituary
Mr. Robert Douglas Houston was the third child born on August 13, 1956 to the late Robert Lee Houston and Georgia Mae Marshall Houston in Meridian, Mississippi. He confessed Christ at an early age later joining the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership Rev. Willie L. Sharp. Robert loved and confessed the Lord and in his stewardship he received recognition of outstanding participation with the Meridian Baptist Seminary ext. Natchez College 1992 by Dr. A.M. Thomas. In 1994 he attained his Associates of Arts in Religious Education from Natchez College. Afterwards he served as a Deacon for a short time here at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Robert Houston never married. But his love for all of his nieces and nephews was immeasurable. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee Houston and Georgia Mae Houston. Robert Douglas Houston, affectionally known as our "Uncle Bug", departed his life on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson's Regional Hospital. Forever cherishing fond memories of Douglas are his four sistersMs. Nila Grace Nelson of Meridian, Mrs. Beverly B. (Charles) Jasper of Quitman, MS, Mrs. Laverne (John) Price of Meridian, MS and Ms. Yvonne Temple of Meridian, Ms. Also a host of nieces/ great-nieces, nephews/ great nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Other Special friend, his best friend, Robert Scarbrough. Robert Douglas Houston loved and cherished his family.
