Mr. Robert L. Johnigan's Obituary
Robert L. Johnigan (Peanut) was born April 11, 1927 to the late Arthur and Inez Johnigan in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. At a young age, he confessed Christ and joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. He would later join Greater Outreach Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon until his health failed. Robert married the love of his life, the late Essie Clayton Johnigan. To this union fourteen (14) children were born. Robert had a passion for the outdoors. He loved making lawns look their best. He also loved singing beautiful melodies. He is survived by fourteen loving children: Min. Bessie Moses, Robert Johnigan, Jr., James Johnigan, Arthur Johnigan, Eddie R. Johnigan, Willie C. Johnigan and Sandra White, all of Meridian, MS; Min. David Johnigan, Barbara Nelson, Emma Johnigan, Yvonne Wallace, Inell Gully and Sadie Jones, all of Jacksonville, FL and Lewis Johnigan of Detroit, MI; one sister: Mrs. Bertha Griffin, forty (40 plus) grandchildren, thirty five (35 plus) great-grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
