Mr. Robert James Smith's Obituary
On August 2, 1944 a beautiful son, Robert James Smith, was born to this union of Mr. R.B. and Julia (Mcwilliams) Smith. Robert James' arrival was Blessed, and he grew into a loving son. Beginning his education in the Meridian Public School system, he attended West End Elementary later transferring to T.J Harris High and graduated class of 1965. He accepted Christ at an early age and affiliated with Anderson Temple Church of God In Christ under pastorate of Superintendent George Murray, where he seived as a faithful deacon. Robert will be remembered as loving and hard working individual; who departed this life on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Jeff Anderson Memorial Hospital. He was employed at Scribbling Equipment; Local Banks of Meridian and East MS State Hospital were he worked faithfully until he retired. He leaves to cherish in his memory: a loving and devoted wife Bessie M Smith; one brother, Robert Charles Smith; one son, Calvin Williams and daughter-in-law Juanita Williams; two daughters, Vickie D. Smith and Miranda A. Jackson; four sister-in-laws, Myrtle Coleman, Daree Stapleton of Meridian, MS, Arma Lee Richardson of Dayton, OH and Annie Thames of Dayton, OH; five devoted grand-children LeRickco L Smith, Katisha S Smith, Jarvis J. Jackson, Damien M. Jackson, Jasmine T. Jackson, all of Meridian, MS; and a host of relatives and friends. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, Julia McWilliams and R.B. Smith; and one son Gregory James Smith.
