Mrs. Rosette Mary Harris' Obituary
Rosette M. "Rose" Harris was born in Meridian, MS on September 21, 19.59 to Mrs. Lillie (Clark) Jenkins and the late Mr. Evan James Lewis. She transcended this earth to her eternal home on April 28, 2014. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She served God faithfully as First Lady of Lively Stone Fellowship Church where she had been a dynamic worshipper, steadfast in the ministry, whether exercising her gift as teacher or supporting the Women's Ministry over the years. Rosette was united in Holy Matrimony to her best friend and soul-mate, Pastor Ondray Harris, Sr., on September 2, 1979, and to this union were born four children: Marquinta, Ondray Jr., Ashley, and Xavier. She was tremendously loving and proud of her family and was mothering to many who crossed her path. Rosette graduated fro1n Meridian High School and matriculated to Meridian Community College, earning an Associate's Degree in Childhood Development Technology. She later received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Develop1nent from Jackson State University and where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Rosette genuinely loved children and was a preschool teacher at Charles Young Child Development Center for numerous years. To add, she was born with the creative "gift", and an entrepreneurial spirit, for which her talent God especially made room. She started a vintage and antiques business with her husband; yet more often than not, she used her traits to spread acts of kindness to those around her. Recognized by those who knew her best as giving, encouraging, protective, expressive, and sweet, Rosette's biggest passion was her family. She had the heart of a cha1npion and will be dearly missed. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and ;devoted husband, Ondray Harris, Sr.; three sons, Marquinta "Donsha" Marris (Brandy), Ondray Harris,Jr. (Lafredia), and Xavier Harris, all of · Meridian; her beloved daughter, Ashley Diggs (Lamar), of Lawrenceville, GA; ten grandchildren, Destiny, Jalin, De'Ondray, Diamond, Katelyn, Ashton, Avihana, Londyn, Ariel, and Ahmad.
