Ms. Rosie Blakney's Obituary
Ms. Rosie Blakney was born January 30, 1955 to the late Charlie and Lula Mae Blakney in Shubuta, MS. She joined Bethel United Methodist Church at an early age. She moved to Texas where she attended Riceville Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She attended and graduated from University of Texas where she received a Business Degree. She worked as a real estate broker and a tax preparer for businesses. The last two years of her life were spent battling an illness to which she succumbed on October 20, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lula Mae Blakney; brother, Charles Blakney; sister, Edna Larry, nephew, Dee Whigham, and one special aunt, Lucille Hayes. She leaves to cherish her memories, 5 sisters: Annie Morgan of Houston, TX; Sara Blakney of Reston, Virginia; Betty Gerald of Maryland; Mary Blakney of Houston, TX; Vickie Whigham of Shubuta, MS; nieces and nephews: Jermaine Morgan, Tonya and Pamela Gerald, Kenneth and Bryan Hopson, Jeffery Blakney and Janette Turner, and Denisha Whigham; special friends from Houston: Linda Williams, Tonya Sanders, Mae Williams Smith, Dr. Andy Zhou, Jennifer Williams, Tyrone Clinton, and a host of relatives and friends.
