Ms. Rosie Amerson Hopson's Obituary
Rosie M Hopson was born August 12, 1936 in Lauderdale, Mississippi to the late Paul and Minnie Amerson. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Rosie, accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age at Hubbard Bethlehem Baptist Church, Lauderdale, Mississippi. She united with Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Meridian, Mississippi under Christian experience and became actively involved with the Mission Ministry, Usher Ministry and the Choir. She was employed at Hope Village as a Developmental Coach until she was laid off due to Covid. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Minnie Hopson of Plano, TX; Joan King (Othello), of Chicago, IL; Kathy Cole of Meridian, MS and Cynthia Hill (Charles) of Jackson, MS,· one son, Ronnie Hopson (Shirley) of Meridian, MS; one brother Eddie Amerson (Louise) of Toomsuba, MS; one sister Margie Amerson (Walter) of Toomsuba, MS; eight grandchildren, Otis Hopson, ;Kenneth Hopson (Meimuna), Marcus Hopson, Chelsea Hopson, Demetrius Cole (Kisha), Othello King, Jr., Reauze Cole and Victoria Griffin; 14 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Minnie Amerson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, grandparents, two children Doris and Clarence Cole, husbands Grady Cole and Johnny Hopson, four sisters and three brothers.
