Ms. Rosie Mary McClelland's Obituary
Rosie Mary McClelland was born to the union of Mr. Jim McClelland and Mary Barfield McClelland in Lauderdale, Mississippi.
She departed this life on July 6, 2021 at Regency Anderson South Hospital in Meridian, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: John David McClelland , Jimmy T. McClelland, Sherman Hardy and Richard Hardy; four sisters: Viola McClelland-Ruffin, Francis McClelland-Spinks, Betty McClelland, Eva McClelland (infant); and one special son: Jimmy McClelland.
She grew up in the Bailey Community where she attended Bailey Vocational School where she graduated.
She worked in the community as a domestic technician. She also served as a foster grandparent for over thirty years in the Meridian Public School System at Witherspoon Elementary School.
Rosie Mary was a faithful member of East Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she was baptized at an early age. She was a joy to be around . She served the church in many auxiliaries: Sunday School, Mission, and Choir until her health failed. She attended church until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one daughter, Diane McClelland of Meridian, MS; one grandson, Ben Streeter III aka, “BJ” of Lawrenceville, GA; a God son: Fredrick Knighten of Birmingham, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
