Ms. Ruby Jean Willis' Obituary
Ruby Jean Willis, the daughter of the late Charles and Claudia Coleman was born on October 1, 1921 in Hickory, MS. Her family later moved to Meridian, MS where she was educated in the Meridian Public School System. Ruby confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth United Methodist Church until her health failed. Ruby worked in many professions, but it was at the Three Foot Building in downtown Meridian where her career as a domestic worker would span for many years. Ruby married Samuel Willis and to this union, they were blessed with a Son, Charles Eugene Willis on June 10, 1943; She had many hobbies: Cooking, Sewing, Singing, Playing the Piano but most of all, FISHING! On January 19, 2016, Ruby transitioned from her earthly journey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Claudia Coleman, her brother, Eugene Coleman, her son Charles Willis, her sister Shirlene Hollins, and her granddaughter, Chara Willis She is survived by one granddaughter, Chandra Wheeler(Leonard); One great-granddaughter, Lindsey Wheeler; one brother, Ralph Coleman; One daughter in law, Eloise Willis; Nine nieces, Gail Charlotte Coleman, Wanda Dean, Zoe Simpson, Gwendolyn Brown, Donna Miller(Charles), Annette Reed, Vyrlyn Ethington, Jovita Hollins, and Mary Hollins. Three nephews, Tony Coleman, Fredrick Reed (LaShannon), Gerald Coleman. Cousins, Seab Coleman(Barbara) and a host of Family and Friends.
