Mrs. Sabra Nadine Glass' Obituary
Nadine, as she was so affectionately called, was born October 6, 1954 in Meridian, MS to the late Mary Louise Welch and the late William H. Brewster. Nadine confessed Christ at an early age and joined Haven Chapel United Methodist Church in Meridian, MS. Nadine her education at ST. Joseph and the Meridian Public School District. She was one of the first African American majorettes for the Meridian High School band.
One of her favorite past times was cooking. Nadine loved to cook and she loved to serve others and see them enjoy their food. She worked most of her life in the food industry as a manager, which included Chicken Basket, McDonalds and other restaurants.
Nadine was kind and loving and she made friends wherever she went. Her heart was big enough for everyone who entered her life and she shared wisdom with them. Nadine also loved children and was often referred to as “Nay Nay” by some of the children she cared for. Nadine was joined in Holy Matrimony to Willie Glass on August 3, 1973 and to this union they raised one daughter, India S. Glass.
Nadine departed this life on Friday, August 24, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Welch, her father William H. Brewster; two brothers, Eddie Lavern Welch and Michael Welch and a favorite cousin, Bettye Jean Wroten. Nadine leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Willie Glass Jr, one daughter, India Shauntay Glass, one granddaughter, Innisynce Scott, twin grandsons, Isaiah and Jsaiah Scott, Father of her grandchildren, Jermaine Scott, all of Meridian, MSN nieces, Sharon Welch and Pamela Welch and a nephew, Eddie Welch Jr, all of Houston, Texas; two special cousins, Lowell Martin and Carol S. Smith and a host of cousins, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws & other relatives and friends.
