Mrs. Sally Ruth Ruffin's Obituary
Sally Ruth Ruffin was the fourth child born to the late Frank Vail and Lucy Gordon Vail on September 3, 1932 in Vinville, MS. She reached her final destination into God’s Kingdom on November 30, 2017.
Sally spent her youngest days walking many miles to school each day. She accepted Christ at an early age as her personal savior.
She loved to cook! she was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding everyone. She worked as a cook at several cafes and restaurants such as the Post Office Cafe and the Red Hot Truck where she was known for making the best biscuits in town. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was lovingly known as “Grand Sally” by all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her grandparents, Della Gordon and John Gordon; parents, Frank and Lucy Vail; sister, Pauline Pringle; two brothers, RC Hearn and MC Gordon; nephew, Matthew (Mack) Vail and three great-grandchildren preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish hr loving memory one son, Larry Ruffin; five daughters, Della (J.R.) Jennings, Betty McClinton, Lorene (Clinton) Davis, Mary Atterberry, all of Meridian, MS and Teresa Pace of McKinney, TX; twenty-two grandchildren, Michael (Cynthia) Ruffin, Sharon Ruffin both of Meridian, MS, Michael (Vickie) Cox of Memphis, TN, Jamar (Crystal) Lundy of Leesburg, VA, Monica Lewis, Co’Tina Ruffin, LaToya Atterberry all of Meridian, MS, JaCinda Davis, Killeen, TX, Kenyatta Ruffin, Stephen Atterberry, Jr., MyKeshia Ruffin, Memphis, TN, Jerel Davis, Stephanie Hill, Michael Atterberry, Yolanda Atterberry, Britney Wiggins, Corey Pace, Brianna Pace, Aleisha Atterberry, Ashley Atterberry, Carlos Atterberry, Jeremiah Atterberry, all of Meridian, MS; forty-nine great-grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren, two special nieces that were like sisters to her, Peggy Lofton, Buffalo, NY and Ruby Leary, Cincinnati, OH and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
