Ms. Sandra Joyce Irby's Obituary
Sandra Joyce Irby was born July 17, 1949 to the union of the late Chris and Daisy Irby in Meridian, MS. She was the second eldest of six children. Born to her were two children Corey Irby and the late Brad Dewayne Irby. Sandra accepted Christ at an early age and she became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she sang in the Choir, was a member of the Usher Board, and served as the Financial Secretary. Sandra was also an active member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Delta Nu Zeta Chapter and a member of the Red Hat Society. Where she enjoyed road tripping and participating in various events. Sandra graduated from Middleton Attendance Center in 1967. She went on to attend and graduate from Rust College in Holly Springs, MS. in 1972. While attending her undergraduate studies at Rust College, she became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. She remained at Rust College working as a Graduate Assistant until 1979. Sandra began her career with the Meridian Housing Authority as an Occupancy Clerk in 1979, where she received several awards and certificates for her hard work and dedication. She retired May 2014 after 35 years of service .Surrounded by her precious family and love ones, Sandra departed this life on January 30, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents Chris and Daisy Irby; sister, Brenda Irby; son, Brad Dewayne Irby. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, Corey Irby, grand-children, Corey Deuce Irby II and Kerrington M. Irby; as well as her sisters, Flora Jean Irby and Deloris Robinson; brothers Danny Irby and Gary Irby ( Marion Lynn); and a host of nieces, nephews, cous-ins, and friends and a dog "T-Bone” who loved her very much.
