Mrs. Sarah Nell Barfield's Obituary
Sarah Nell Barfield was born August 21, 1937 to the late Clara Glover and the late Cleveland Burrage in Meridian, Mississippi. At an early age she joined Saint Luke Baptist Church under Pastor J.W. Perrien, Sr. She served in ministry faithfully at St. Luke for many years. During her servitude, she had numerous positions to include church secretary, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, usher, and various other offices. On April 20, 2014, she joined New Grace Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Raymond Ruffin. On July 11, 1968, she married Fred Douglas Barfield. During this union, they were blessed with one daughter, Linda Barfield and parented Vicki (Raymond) Walls. On February 22, 2020, Sarah Nell transitioned to glory. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Douglas Barfield, her mother Clara Glover, her father Cleveland Burrage, one brother Arthur Gathright; three sisters: Peggy Gordon, Barbara Walker, and Elsie Thedford. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Linda Barfield of Meridian, Mississippi, three sisters: Clarice Moore of North Carolina, Eloise Walker and Frances Walker of Meridian, Mississippi, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
