Mrs. Sarah R. Graham's Obituary
Sarah Roberta Graham was the sixth child of ten children, born to the late Will and Mary Figgers, on August 2, 1925 in Meridian, Mississippi. She departed this life on September 25, 2015, at the age of 90. Sarah accepted Christ at an early age, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from T.J. Harris High School in 1944. After high school, Sarah attended junior college for a short time. In 1945, Sarah met Timothy Graham. They were united in holy matrimony by the late Reverend Clinton Inge (a former pastor of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church). In 1946, their only child, Edna Marie, was born. Edna preceded her in death in 2011. Sarah was married to Rev. Timothy Graham for 60 years. In 1967, Sarah opened the Head £tart School at New Hope Baptist Church, as a teacher. She later worked at Meridian Head Start for 15 years, possibly longer. She retired from Meridian Head Start in 2002. She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted son-in-law, Zebedee Pigford of Los Angeles, California. Grandsons, Jason T. Pigford, North Beach, Maryland, and Jonathan A. Pigford (Dalila), Oakland, California. Great-grandson, Loni, Great-grandaughters, Kyla, Talia and Asha. Devoted sisters, Jannie Brown and Frankie Harris of Los Angeles, California, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
