Mrs. Sarah Edna Clark Hudnall's Obituary
Sarah Edna Clark Hudnall was born the fourth of seven children to the union of John and Pauline Clark on May 21, 1930. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Plese Hudnall on June 25, 1949. To this union three daughters were born Martha, Geneva, and Alice. They were also very instrumental in helping to rear their oldest grandson, Desmond "Shun" Hudnall who was the son they never had. Sarah also became the surrogate mother and grandmother to her nieces and nephews after the death of her siblings. At an early age, Sarah accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Marion. She worked faithfully in the church as an usher, Senior Choir member, matron and mission member. The service she truly loved working in was the Food/Hospitality Ministry. She would work tirelessly planning, cooking, and serving food at the church. Sarah dearly loved her church and she attended faithfully until her health limited her service. Sarah retired from Northwood Country Club after working there for more than 30 years. She did not stay retired long before she began working as a Foster Grandparent at West Hills Elementary School. She loved working with the kindergarten and first grade students. So much so, that she worked there for 14 years. Sarah's beloved husband of over 51 years, Plese; her parents, John and Pauline Clark; and all her siblings: Essie B., Susie Mae, Margarete, Sallie, John, Jr., Luvenia, Luvena Loper preceded her in death. Sarah transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Cherising her memory and awaiting a heavenly reunion are: three daughters: Martha (Robert) Walker, Geneva (Barry) Jenkins all of Meridian; and Alice Gilner of Douglasville, GA; five grandchildren: Desmond "Shun" Hudnall of Chicago, IL; Desshandra "Shandra" Walker of Hattiesburg, MS; Robert Jason Walker of Little Rock, AR; Ashley Jenkins (Artez) Jernigan of Baton Rouge, LA; and Amber Jenkins (Christopher) Moore, Kalamazoo, MI; one great grandson, Kaeden Thigpen of Hattiesburg, MS and a host of much loved nieces, nephews, friends, and the St. John Church family.
