Mrs. Sarah Lee Price's Obituary
Sarah Lee Price was born September 13, 1936, in Barnett, MS to Willie and Lillie Mae Rushing. Both parents preceded her in death. Ms. Sarah departed this life on February 22, 2023, at her home in Quitman, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Lillie Mae Rushing; her husband John C. Price, Sr; Son D'Marcus Price; Sisters: Frozen Buxton, Merlene Polk, Addie Mae Price, Allie Marie Price, Freddie Price, Sophie Price. Brothers; Leroy Rushing, Clarence Rushing, Pat Rushing, Irving Price, John Wesley Price, Sullivan Price, JR. Sullivan Price, SR. and Arfester Price. Ms. Sarah joined John The Baptist Church of Barnett, MS at an early age where she served faithfully. She later met and married Mr. John C. Price, Sr, to this union 8 children were born. In 1964 the family moved to Quitman, MS. She later joined Pearlie Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her final days of life. She was a member of the choir, where she served as president for many years. She and her children traveled to many states singing quartet, lifting up the name of Jesus. She is well known by many far and near and she will surely be missed. Ms. Sarah was employed with Friends of Children of Ms, Inc for over 30 years. Ms. Sarah leaves to cherish her memories of her children: John C. Price, Jr of Quitman, MS; Doretha (Lowell) McCarty of Quitman, MS; Margaretha (LC) Cole of De Kalb, MS; Addie (Henry) McGrew of Quitman, MS; Tony (Teresa) Price of Meridian, MS; Shefrelia Price, Londell Price, both of · Quitman, MS. Siblings: Rose (Wardell) Stells of Quitman, MS; Odell (Helen) Rushing of Barnett, MS; Marvin Rushing of Barnett, MS; Willie Mae Rushing of Chicago 11; Ellis (Helen) Rushing of IL, Clinton Rushing of 11, Justine (Wallace) Pearson, Champagne, IL; Nellie Dingle of New York;James (Louise) Rushing of Chicago, IL; Annie Louise Vassar of IL. A very special niece Edna Pearl Manning of Barnett, MS. Special God Children: Theresa Haralson. Kesha Evan, Katie Mays, and La'Cedric Myers. Ms. Sarah also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
