Mr. Sherman Clemons' Obituary
Sherman Clemons was born on February 28, 1930 to the late William Henry Clemons and Callie Rush Clemons in Philadelphia, Mississippi. At an early age, he confessed his life to Christ. Sherman attended the Neshoba County Public School System. He was a graduate of T.J. Harris Jr. College. He later joined the United States Army, where he retired as an E7 after serving 27 years at Livingston Alabama Army Guard Base. Sherman was an entrepreneur. Throughout the years he owned several lounges. He also managed The Elks Lodge. Sherman was employed with Sears for over 40 years until he retired. He enjoyed music, and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, L. A. Lakers, and the L. A. Dodgers. Sherman united in holy matrimony to the late Annie Payne Clemons. To this union five children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sons: Phillip Clemons and Sherowin Clemons; seven siblings: Hillman Clemons, William Henry Clemons, Bobby Clemons, Prentis Ray Clemons, Dorothy Sue Boyd, Selina Russell, and Clotee Mc Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory five children, Annie Watkins, Sindy Clemons (Howard), Banner Clemons, Wanda Wallace (Leland) and Thomas Wilson; siblings: Mary Lois Rush, Edice McWilliams, Catherine Nichols, Winnie Gibson, James Clemons, Jr. Ray Clemons, and Gene Clemons; twelve grandchildren including one special granddaughter Sidny, and one special grandson and caregiver, Isaiah; twenty-four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
