Mrs. Shirlene F. Clark's Obituary
Shirlene Franklin Clark was born June 28, 1946 in Meridian, Missippi to the union on
Frank Franklin, Sr., and Alene Hudnall Ramsey Franklin. At an early age, she confessed a hope in Christ and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member of the usher board and Wilson Barksdale Circle of Mission Ministry. She was educated at St. Joseph Catholic School.
Shirlene loved caring for people which led her to become employed at Meridian Convalescent Nursing Home in Meridian, MS, where she worked for many years.
Shirlene was loved by everyone in her community. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was known to many as granny, grandma, and Mawmaw.
Shirlene loved working puzzles and talking on the phone with family and friends.
On September 3, 2023, God dispatched his angels to usher Shirlene Franklin from her earthly home into eternal rest.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alene and Frank Franklin, Sr., her daughter, Chiquita Clark, two grandsons, Darrion Clark and Delbrico Rigsby, three sisters, Nene Ball, Connie Lewis and Sue Cockrell, and two brothers, Joseph Franklin, Sr., and Frank Franklin, Jr.
She leaves a lifetime of memories to be cherished by her five sons, Aldolphus Clark, Harold (Bobbye Ann) Clark, Sr., Eric Clark, Demetrius Clark and David (Michelle) Viverette; three daughters: Kimberly Clark (Stacy), Latashia Clark and Rumunda Dyer; two special grandsons:
Dewayne Poe and Desmond Lewis; special cousins: Dorothy Matthews and Harriett (Firdia) Byrd; special niece: Tanya Franklin-Turner, special nephew: Joseph Franklin, Jr., sister-in-law:
Joyce Marshall Franklin; goddaughter: Joann Hill; and special family: Betty Smith, Eddie Hunter, Sara Sims, Orlando Franklin and Ernestine Campbell. She also leaves 34 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
