Mrs. Shirley Jennie Phillips' Obituary
Shirley Jennie Gilmore was born on August 10, 1955 to Will H. and Marcella Barnett Gilmore of Heidelberg, MS. She was the youngest of four children. She was called "Jennie" after her great aunt Jennie Bell Price Wade by most of her family and friends.
She joined the (Greater) Beaver Meadow Baptist Church at an early age and later moved her membership to the New Beaver Meadow Baptist Church.
Jennie was joined in holy matrimony to Swinnie James Phillips, Sr. of Quitman, MS. From this union, a son, Swinnie James, Jr. was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Marcella Gilmore, and a sister, Barbara
Gilmore Moody.
While the spirit of Jennie shall live on, her earthly departure will leave a heavy heart. Her love and legacy shall forever be treasured by her husband, Swinnie James, Il and her only.son, Swinnie James, III (fiance' - Shetica Lockhart); loving grandchildren: Christian Nicholson, Jhonique Mosley, and Swinnisha Phillips; twin great grandchildren: Christian, Jr. and Kristen Nicholson; a sister, Rhomie (M.J.) Keyes of Heidelberg, MS; and a brother, Will H.
(Sharon) Gilmore of Laurel, MS; aunts: Lorene (Joe*) Gilmore of Heidelberg, MS; and Madgrea (Thomas*) Cooley of Ashtabula, OH; and Evelyn (George*) Gilmore of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives, and friends.
