Ms. Shonda La'Ketra Pollard's Obituary
On June 21, 1971, Shonda Laketra Pollard was born to Frances Rosser Godfrey and the late Benny Sheffield. A proclamation went out throughout the family. A girl! She was the first granddaughter.
As a child, Shonda attended school in the Meridian Public School District before moving to Houston, Texas where she graduated form Nimitz High School. She attended Wilfred School of Beauty and Houston Community College where she received an associate of Arts Degree in accounting. She also graduated from the CAN program at Meridian Community College and was a Magna Cum Laude. Reared in a stalwart home, she was also led to Christ for salvation and confessed a hope in him as a child. She was baptized at New Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, TX. Shonda was the proud mother of 2 sons, Francois Semay Pollard and Othron Pollard. Sunday, afternoon at 1:03 pm, Shonda reached out for her Saviors hand to carry her home where trouble and pain will be no more. And now her life is truly blessed because she is now absent from the old and now present with the Lord.
