Mrs. Sondra Elisa Barnes' Obituary
Sondra Elisa (Naylor) Barnes was born to the union of L.C. and Eunice Brown Cherry on September 9, 1957, in Meridian, MS. Sondra was the nineth of twelve children born to this union. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and believed that prayer was the most important aspect to any situation. Sondra spent countless hours praying for others and volunteering at various local churches, community centers and senior citizens groups. Her faith was unwavering. She went beyond expectations to love and care for her children and granddaughter Khalyn. Sondra was preceded in death by her Father, L.C. Naylor, Mother, Eunice Estell Brown Cherry, her brothers,John Thomas, and Ernest Lee Naylor. Sondra graduated from Meridian High School in 1975 and attended Alcorn State University. She went on to obtain a Nursing degree from Meridian Community College Nursing Program in 1983. She worked at East Mississippi State Hospital for many years, where she was dedicated and graciously cared for others. Sondra leaves to cherish her memories, two sons Ray Barnes Jr., Lenniex Barnes, daughter Eulisa Barnes and granddaughter Khalyn Atterberry. Five sisters Kather Naylor of Tulsa, OK, Trudy(Frank)Naylor of Meridian, Chephren (Tyrone) Batiste and Unikar Rogers-Naylor of Houston, TX; Five brothers, L.C. (Carolyn) Naylor of Fairfield, CA; Carlos (Cathy) Naylor of Houston, TX; Gary (Carpia) Naylor of Fisher, IN; Allister (Krystal) Naylor of Pensacola, FL; Allison (Kim) Naylor of Pearl, MS. One uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
