Mrs. Stella Carter Gordon's Obituary
Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother transitioned peacefully in her sleep to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father. She truly loved the Lord and believed in the power of prayer. Stella was the youngest child of twelve born to Rev. John and Estel Ward Carter in Scooba, MS. She was preceded in death by all her siblings. Stella was educated in the Kemper County School System, her last year of school was done at St. Joseph Catholic School in Meridian. She was a faithful member of Fitkins Memorial Church of the Nazarene till her health fail. Stella retired from the housekeeping department at Rush Hospital after 25 years of faithful service. Stella was married to Primus Gordon for 58 years. This union produced 10 children, two son's preceeded her in death. She is survived by four daughters, Janie Gordon, Elizabeth Jackson, Donnette Porter(Don) and Sherry Jones; four sons, Teddy Gordon (Reyna), David Gordon, Andre Gordon (Monie) and Gregory Gordon; fifteen grandchildren, Terri Dunn (Sudrick), Michael Gordon (Carmelitha), Rongeo Jackson (Latresea), Latrina Porter, Adrin Gordon, Thomas Gordon, Bobby Gordon (Kataisha), Jason Jones (Peggy), Joseph Porter, Reginald Gordon, Victoria Porter, Regina Evans, MaKaylia Gordon, Jurni Gordon and Andre Gordon, Jr.; eighteen great-grand children; one brother-in-law, Rush Gordon (Ruth), one sister-in-law Mary J. Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, family and two special friends, Minister Annie Grace and Mrs. Annie Powe.
