Mr. Stephenson Henderson's Obituary
Stephenson Henderson was born January 12, 1953 to the late Willie Manning and Ola Mae Henderson Burns. Stephenson, affectionately known as "Steve" received his early education at Harris and graduated from Meridian High School in 1971, later attending Meridian Junior College. Steve was employed for 15 years at Meridian Frame and Body. He was also employed at Meridian Public School System as a Bus Driver and Cafeteria worker for 15 years. I Steve, being a very industrious man was also an entrepreneur and was Owner Opera-tor of Henderson Paint and Body repair for many years. The highlight of his entre-preneurship was ownership of his Charter Bus Service. Steve was also an Original member of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club (1980's). Steve gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Steve had a joy for music and was an active member of all the choirs. Steve love for singing was "A Living Testimony" to the life he lived. He was "A Soldier in the Army of the Lord" that often sang his favorite song; "Sending Up My Timber Everyday". Steve was a Ordained Deacon, Trustee and Usher. For many years he transported his church family to services and various other church functions. Steve's love of singing songs of Zion extended outside of this com-munity, he also song with "Voices of Joy," "Unity," Pleasant Hill Male Chorus and "Savannah Grove Male Chorus". Steve married Angela Smith and they enjoyed eight and a half wonderful years to-gether. Steve loved, cherished and was very proud of his children. He leaves to mourn his children Gregory Henderson (Chiquita), Honolulu, Hawaii; Lorna Hender-son, Columbia, SC; Stephanie Moore (Frederick), Hinesville, GA; Stephenson Hender-son, Birmingham, AL; Tralecia Rollins, Jackson, MO; Nicholas Blake (Charla); ]aMia, Kevin and Kavon Henderson and a god-daughter Tanae Beard, all of Meridian, MS. Sibling: Jimmy Bums, Meridian, MS; Betty Johnson, Meridian, MS; Eugene Clark, Balti-more, MD; Kathleen Burton (Talmadgea), Biloxi, MS and Tensley Henderson, South-field, MI. One uncle, J.W. Henderson, Meridian, MS. 12 grandchildren, 5 great grand-children, 5 sister-n-laws, 7 brother-n-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
