He was a graduate of Kemper County High School. A TIME TO DIE I must leave you now, I was only loaned to you for a season. On Friday, May 2, 2014, Sylvester Ford, Jr. passed away at Rush Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. A TIME TO MOURN He leaves to cherish his memories his Father: Sylvester Ford, Sr. and stepmother Abbigail Ford of Porterville, MS.; his son SyMarren Ford, Philadelphia, MS; stepsisters: Sheila (Richard) Hickman and Tiffany (Sherrod) Grace; stepbrothers Cedric (Kristie) Hampton and Lavelle Hampton all of Meridian, MS. Maternal grandmother, Charlene (Earnest) Haywood of Charlotte, NC; maternal grandfather Sammie Richardson of Erie, PA.; paternal grandparents Early and Lorine Ford of Porterville, MS.; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Ms. Wanda Evette Ford and his maternal grandmother Grady Moore, maternal great-grandmother Earlene Naylor, 3 uncles; Earl Ford, Sr., William Ford, and Richard Ford, 3 aunts; Ollie and Shirley Ford, Kathy Haley, and his maternal grandfather Leonard Moore.
