Mr. Sylvester Lewis, Jr.'s Obituary
Sylvester Lewis, Jr. began his walk of life as the son of the late Reverend Sylvester Lewis Sr. and Lillian Lewis on February 1, 1943 in Colinsville, MS. his walk of life ended when he went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Jeff Anderson Memorial Hospital in Meridian, MS.He is preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Sr. and Lillian Lewis; his son, Cyrus Lewis; nine siblings, Aaron, Clifton, Theodore, Ellis, JD, Henry, Rosie, Albert and Lela Mae.
He confessed his love of Christ at an early age and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He is a graduate of Middleton Attendance Center of Lauderdale, MS. He served as a dedicated employee of Norfolk Southern Railroad. He married the former Pearline Betts on June 17, 1967 and while married three children were born of their union: Bridgette, Cyrus and Andrea (Pachette). His life will forever be cherished by his family: Bridgette (Esau) Brown, Andrea Lewis, both of Meridian, MS; siblings, Lula Mae McDonald of Collinsville, MS, Charlene Edward (James) Scott and Naomi Harris, both of Harrisburg, PA, James (Fannie) Lewis of Cleveland, OH; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Beverly Lewis; a friend, Ruth Thompson, a special dog, Little Missy and a host of nephew, nieces, cousins and other friends.
