Spc. Terry Kishaun Dantez Gordon's Obituary
Terry Kishaun Dantez Gordon was born September 21, 1991 in Meridian, MS to Mr. Terry Gordon and Ms. Sabina Dansby. He was a member of the Tabernacle Church of God in Pachuta, MS. Dantez, as he was called liked playing baseball, video games, bowling and his greatest joy was fishing and spending time with his family. He was a 2011 graduate of Quitman High School in Quitman, MS. During his attendance there, he was a member of the JROTC branch where he served as Command Sgt. Major, color guard commander, captain of the physical training team, drill team commander, member of exhibition drill team, over the armed drill team, served one year as executive officer, and received Superior cadet of the year award. Upon finishing high school, Terry enlisted in the United States Army. He received basic training and AJT at Ft. Jackson, SC. His first US Army assignment was Ft. Riley, KS from which he was deployed to Afghanistan with Troop E. 1st Squadron 6th Calvary Regiment CAB. He departed this life on December 17, 2013 in Now Bahar Afghanistan while serving his country. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: William and Lillie Plummer Dansby and Harold Gordon. He leaves to cherish and treasure his memories, his mother: Sabina (David) Edwards of Shubuta, MS; his father: Terry Gordon of Pachuta, MS; one sister: Terriuna Gordon of Pachuta, MS; two brothers: David ''D'doe" Edwards and William Edwards both of Shubuta, MS; one step sister: Nicoria Edwards of Quitman, MS; one grandmother: Willie Ann Gordon of Pachuta, MS; five aunts: Phyllis (Calvin) Cooley, Miriam Gordon, and Darlene (Carlos) McLaughlin all of Pachuta, MS; Angela (Daniel) Hughes of Heidelberg, MS; Velma Thigpen of Marrero, LA; four uncles: Jack Gordon of Pachuta, MS; Donald (Lillie) Dansby of Paulding, MS; Randy (Christina) Gordon of Haywood, CA; Christopher (Melissa) Dansby of Heidelberg, MS; Honorary grandparents: John and Lillie Edwards of Shubuta, MS; Honorary aunts: Linda Dyess of Quitman, MS, Tommie (Patsy) Edwards of Shubuta, MS; Johnnie (Camille) Edwards of Waynesboro, MS. A host of cousins, relatives and friends.
