Mrs. Thelma Yvonne Marshall Laphand's Obituary
Thelma Yvonne Marshall was born November 5, 1939 in Clarke County to Cozette Roberts Marshall & George William Marshall. She departed this life on December 10, 2015 at Rush Hospital in Meridian MS. Thelma accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Pearlie Grove B. C. as a young adult and served faithfitlly as an usher under the pastoral leadership of Reverend T. T. Johnson. In her golden years, she became a member of the Center Ridge B. C. under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Lorenzo Carter and was instrumental in the organization of the first Nursery department and served faithfully. Thelma was employed for 30 years at Burlington Industries in Stonewall, MS in the Weave Department until she retired. She loved her job and the people that she worked with. She was an avid sports fan; she loved the L.A. Lakers, Washington Redskins and Venus & Serena Williams! She loved sports, spades and her parched peanuts. Thelma was preceeded in death by her parents; Cozette & L.T. Lindsey and George William Marshall. She leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters; Mary Young of Quitman, MS and Essie (Ollie) Abney of Heidelberg, MS four children: Carol (Ray) Jones of Pachuta, MS, Jessie (Ethel) Laphand of Meridian, MS, Andrea (Earlie) Davis of Quitman, MS, and Damain (Dorothy) Laphand of Quitman, MS. Eight grandchildren: Marcia (Donson) and Mario (Krystal) Laphand, Jessica Carmichael, David, Roderick, Cordero (Cornella), Arveyania Laphand and Porsche Collins. Two special great grandsons; Todrian & Cameron Laphand Twenty-one great-grands, two great-great grands, three special friends; Cynthia Thomas, Leona Gary and Jeannie McCree; a special caregiver and friend Gloria Keeler and a host of nieces, neph-ews, cousins relatives and friends.
