Mr. Theodore Jerome Smiley's Obituary
Mr. Theodore Jerome Smiley known as “T.J.'' or "Romey'' was born on October 21, 1953 to the late Mr. Andrew and Mrs. Mary Smiley. He was second born of three siblings. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with St. Matthews Baptist Church in Laurel, Delaware. Upon moving to Meridian, Mississippi, Theodore became a member of Reflections of Christ Kingdom Church (R.O.C.K. Meridian). Theodore graduated from Paul Dunbar High School in Laurel, Delaware. He then attended Dover Community College in Dover, Delaware and Meridian Community College in Meridian, Mississippi. In 1982, Theodore obtained his Masters of Counseling degree from Mississippi State University. He married the love of his life, Ms. Marilyn Presswood of Meridian, Mississippi and remained faithfully married for thirty-three years. During his professional career, Theodore worked at Kidney Care, Weems Mental Health and the Meridian Public School District. He also honorably served his country for five years as a United States Marine. Theodore is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ms. Andrea Smiley. Left to cherish lasting memories, a loving and devoted wife, Ms. Marilyn Smiley; two (2) sons, Marx (Venetia) of Walnut Grove, Mississippi and Curtis of Jackson, Mississippi; two (2) daughters, Cynthia of Houston, Texas and Tammye of Meridian, Mississippi; one (1) brother, Mr. Allen (Patricia) Smiley of Snow Hill, Delaware; three (3) grandchildren, Kiana, Marx, Jr., and Jordan; one (1) great granddaughter, Londyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
